Crouching behind the Western mountains
How lovely would it be,
To find a land of such purity!
Behind those mountains were
Children who were born of the sun,
Blessed by the glitters of the moon
And caressed by the hands of nature
The youth danced and sung
Until the night was high
And when the breeze was calm
Came the ships of the whitemen
That wandered within the shore
As the sun came
The youth beckoned at the whites
'We come in peace' they replied
And nodded the young seeds
Who did not know
Of their fate to wither
'How foolish, how foolish!' they cried
The doves who were late to fly,
